Hold on to your hats because it’s going to be an interesting evening with lot’s of information, code examples and wicked time with fellow PostgreSQL (piggy, as we call it in Finnish) enthusiasts! This event is suitable for developers who have already worked with relational databases for some time since we’re going to dive into some advanced stuff.
Oskar Ojala, a Senior Consultant at Reaktor, is going to introduce us to how PostgreSQL is used in Electronic Matriculation Examination, one of the most advanced information systems in Finland. Oskar will showcase some design principals as well as advanced techniques for solving practical problems. After Oskar’s presentation, we’re going to hear another interesting case from Kamu Health’s Head of Development, Petri Louhelainen. Petri will demonstrate the possibilities of creating an authenticating REST API without a single line of backend code using advanced PostgreSQL wizardry, like row level security, views, procedures and built-in json support. He’ll also discuss the implications of making your database GDPR compliant by separating identifying information outside the main data.
